Throughout my experience working at Alaska Airlines, I have been able to dive deep into the booking purchase path by building new experiences and providing an in-depth approach to understand guest’s perception in each product. I have worked in the seat map, cart and flight results page giving me a holistic overview for the upsell booking design work.

Ecosystem Overview

The latest upsell booking experience at Alaska Airlines has been able to successfully support guests with relevant information in a seamless way without browsing aimlessly.

This chart represents all the different touchpoints where guests might experience an upselling flow from one fare type (Saver, Main, First Class) to another one or a seat upgrade (Premium Class).

The main goal of this project has been to provide a holistic design upsell strategy by creating new interaction patterns that will minimize the cognitive load to upgrade and deliver new components to the design system.
Throughout the upsell booking experience, I have divided the projects per touchpoints, doing exhaustive tactical and foundational user research to define value propositions for each product (Saver, Main, First Class, and Premium Class) and understand the right voice and tone to support guests throughout their journey to upgrade.
